Feis Dunedin 2007

Welcome to the 'Feis Dunedin 2007' Feature..... The Feis Calendar in Scotland for 2007 kicked off to a fab start with Feis Dunedin. With a change of venue to Beeslack High School in Penicuik, the feis started bang on time on Saturday and Sunday with 2 halls being used. Hall A was used for most of the Championship competitions, whilst Hall B, a large games hall, with 3 large floors, was used for most of the grading competitions as well as the open competitions. Feis organiser, Michelle Haughey T.C.R.G, was at hand throughout the 2 days, although most of the time your could find her running from hall to hall making sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. A warm welcome awaited everyone by the friendly Feis Stewards who were also on hand making sure everyones needs were catered for. From the ladies in the canteen who were busy serving delicious hot and cold food, to the door stewards who had a friendly word to say to each visitor who walked in the door, to the many helpers, many whom were parents within Michelle's school, who were located within each hall to help and guide everyone. Michelle and all her helpers should be congratulated on this fantastic and well organised event and the many hours of planning certainly paid off as the feis was a great success. Feis Vendors were also kept very busy with, Camelia Rose, selling all her lovely accessories....from the very latest wigs, to beautiful hairbands, gorgeous hair pins etc....Flossie's with their vast display of shoes, socks and other Irish Dancing accessories.....ReelCards with beautiful hand-made Irish Dancing themed cards....and....Professional Feis Photography, capturing that special moment to treasure for a lifetime..... |

Michelle Haughey certainly had put a great deal of thought in making sure her Feis was to everyone's liking by allowing the dancing public a platform to voice their opinion on her feis, by handing out 'Feis Feedback' forms to all who attended.. This fine detail reflected upon the great organisational skills on hand by all who helped and the willingness to listen to the many hundreds of dancers, parents and supporters who attended, although I'm sure all boxes were ticked in the right places as their were many many happy faces within the venue who enjoyed Feis Dunedin and are looking forward to next year. |
